National Heritage Open Days and Wirral History & Heritage Open Days 2019
Based on last year’s success Victoria Hall Community Trust is delighted to be presenting another event as part of National Heritage Open Days and Wirral History & Heritage Open Days programme in September this year.
Join us for a local history talk in the architectural gem that is Victoria Hall. An Arts and Crafts style building founded in Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee year of 1897 on land donated by Catherine King, and where the Beatles played in 1962.
Friday 20 September
Doors open 7pm | Event start 7.30pm / Finished by 10pm
Talk: The History of Storeton Quarry and Tramway Life in Higher Bebington.
The talk gives details of the quarries and tramway. It follows the route from the quarry down to the Old Quay and is illustrated with maps and photographs, and provides information about where you can find evidence of the former tramway today.
